pride, anger, and shame

My father was born 105 years ago today. He was proud to serve his country during World War II. If he were still alive, he would be angered and ashamed at what this country is becoming. We need to fix this, now. Fascists gotta go.

See
here for an article about my father. It's a jpeg of the original article and I've yet to figure out how to put a jpeg here in Dreamwidth.

I would like very much to read this article, but it's Bluesky-locked. Would I be able to find it in its original context elsenet? Images can be uploaded to Dreamwidth via this interface and then shared for posting from your list. (I believe you will not see anything at the latter link if you have not uploaded any images.)

Sorry, when Bluesky said "Everybody can reply" I thought that meant everybody, not just logged in Bluesky users.

From the outside, alas, it just says "Sign-in Required."

If you still can't see these well enough to read them, let me know and I'll repost them on Facebook.

Both of these images read just fine to me. Thank you for sharing them. His memory for a blessing.

What an amazing story of his life. They could make a movie about his time at Pearl Harbor and his romance with your mom. My memory of your parents is how nice they were when we all descended on their house.

I've often thought of how horrified and upset my mom would have been if she were alive these days. She died during Obama's presidency and she was so happy and thrilled when he was elected. At least she never had to see the backlash.
