pride, anger, and shame

My father was born 105 years ago today. He was proud to serve his country during World War II. If he were still alive, he would be angered and ashamed at what this country is becoming. We need to fix this, now. Fascists gotta go.

What an amazing story of his life. They could make a movie about his time at Pearl Harbor and his romance with your mom. My memory of your parents is how nice they were when we all descended on their house.

I've often thought of how horrified and upset my mom would have been if she were alive these days. She died during Obama's presidency and she was so happy and thrilled when he was elected. At least she never had to see the backlash.
