This was the only photo I took today at the N. C. State Fair, from inside Dorton Arena. I kinda wish I'd snapped one of the 2.1 ton pumpkin or the giant surly tom turkey or the little girl after her father told her what would probably happen to that turkey next month, but I think all along I was unconsciously looking for one picture to symbolize the whole shebang, and this one will do.

It's a very good picture. I love the framing and the echoing of the colors.

Thank you! I debated whether to crop the people out of the bottom but left them as I thought they enhanced the depth and added "life." What do you think, should I have cropped it to where the seats start?

Cropped would have been more abstract, composition is more balanced as it is and more live. The people are less symmetrical and I like their presence.

Great photo! I am distracted though by the bit about the little girl and her dad. So... no attempt to obfuscate or soften the bad news? Seems a bit harsh!
